About The Dolly Planet

The Dolly Planet is a shop that caters to collectors of high-quality, hip and trendy dolls and action figures. It came about because Dale Westcott and Clint Middleton were avid collectors who wanted to have fun working while providing a local place for others collectors to fulfill their needs.

Dale has been a comic book collector for over 20 years. His favorites include Superman and Wonder Woman. Dale had a good Southern upbringing in Alabama and moved to Memphis to get his graduate degree. He has worked in the retail industry for 18 years for both major toy companies and clothing retailers. His vast knowledge of the comic book industry helped to inspire the dream of The Dolly Planet.

Clint is not quite the comic book fan-his love of dolls started a few years ago when he was given a Bob Mackie Barbie for Christmas. From that point on, he fell in love with Barbie which, of course, opened up a whole new world to explore and collect. Once he started, he couldn't get enough of it. After leaving Mississippi, Clint pursued a retail management career in both clothing and photography industries. Deciding to take a chance on living the dream of owning his own business, he approached Dale and The Dolly Planet was born.

As long time collectors, Dale and Clint wanted to offer both super-hero and hip & trendy dolls, action figures and comic statues at affordable prices. Just in case you didn't get the play on words, The Dolly Planet's name came from combining these two loves of dolls and comic books. In the shower one day, Clint thought about one of the most famous newspapers in the comic book world and inspiration struck- he changed Daily to Dolly, and the rest was history. Great idea, huh? (Well, he likes to think so!)

Clint, the wise and handsome leader of The Dolly Planet, will be handling the day to day tasks of The Dolly Planet, with occasional pop-ins from Dale.
